We have an update regarding a three-hour police standoff on Point Anne Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Belleville police report receiving calls about a domestic incident at a residence in which a suspect with a firearm might be holding a victim hostage.
The suspect was known to police and was wanted for breaching his probation.
Belleville’s Emergency Response Team, K9 Unit, and negotiators eventually were able to take man into custody without incident.
As it turned out there was no firearm involved.
A 31-year-old woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine and obstructing police while a 37-year-old man was also charged with possession of crystal meth and assault with a weapon.
Names will not be released as the incident was a domestic dispute.
