A Belleville man faces assault police and breach of probation charges after an incident Wednesday night.
Belleville police had received several calls from a man believed to be intoxicated. Officers responded to King George Square around 8 o’clock to check on the man at a residence.
While there the man tried to hit one of the officers.
Facing charges is 37-year-old James McMullin.
Meanwhile early Thursday, police responded to Front Street after reports a man was found unconscious on a sidewalk. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 41-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with aggravated assault.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 o’clock in the morning.
