What happens when a councillors’ debate meets a comedy roast?
You get the 107th Wharf Street Debating Club Bun Feed at the Foster Ward Community Centre.
Candidates running for Belleville City Council took part in a roast with proceeds from the event going to the Children’s Safety Village.
Expletives were allowed and no one in or out of the room was safe from scorn.
Neil Ellis was the lone Belleville mayoral candidate that took park in the bun feed.
Ellis took aim at his fellow mayoral candidates Mitch Panciuk and Kyle Thomson during his roast.
No candidates for Ward 2 – Thurlow participated in the bun feed.
Among the candidates who took part for Ward 1 – Belleville were Tyler Allsopp, Mike Benson, Nick Boretski, Lisa Anne Chatten, Jeremy T. Davis, Chris Malette and Sarita Van Dyke.
School board trustee candidates also took part.
The candidates that took part included Colin Duffy, Christine Herrington and Osborne Noronha.
The winner of the bun feed was determined through a vote from the audience.
In the end, it was determined that Tyler Allsopp was the winner and named the “King of the Bun Feed.”
In total, $1,611.75 was raised from the event.
