A consultant’s organizational culture assessment for the Municipality of Brighton has shown employees have had serious concerns regarding both management and council.
Brighton council hired KPMG to do an organizational review after concerns were raised because a handful of senior management staff left their jobs in the past couple of years..
KPMG interviewed employees and many said they felt they were unappreciated by management and that there were too many managers and not enough staff.
Some employees in the public works, planning, and building departments reported being harassed and bullied by some council members.
On a positive note, KPMG reported that the management/staff relationship had been improving lately.
