United Way Hastings and Prince Edward has opened its online application process for funding from the organization.
“All social service agencies wishing to apply for funding are encouraged to do so. These agencies include all charitable organizations
which meet the eligibility criteria.” said Brandi Hodge, Executive Director of United Way Hastings and Prince Edward, in a press release.
Hodge says that organizations are not required to have had a previous relationship with United Way in order to apply.
“This process is open to all eligible organizations. We know the needs are rising and the landscape is changing rapidly – and our hope is that we will be in a position to help as many people in our community as possible by funding organizations that are meeting the most pressing needs,” Hodge said.
UWHPE says it is looking to receive request for investments (RFI) that meet at least one of three of its criteria. These include “All that Kids Can Be”, “From Poverty to Possibility” and “Strong Communities.”
Eligibility to put in a request for investment includes the following:
- The agency must align with United Way Hastings & Prince Edward’s Impact Strategy and,
- The agency provides services to residents of Hastings County and/or Prince Edward County and,
- A volunteer Board of Directors governs the agency and,
- The agency provides audited annual financial statements and,
- The agency must be an organization that is a qualified donee under Canada Revenue Agency.
RFIs should be submitted by November 4 at 4:30 p.m. EST. From there, they will be reviewed by a citizen review committee.
Back in mid-September, the organization had announced it was looking to reach a fundraising goal of $2-million.
