A 51-year-old man has been identified as the victim in a fatal plane crash involving an amateur-built aircraft near Maynooth, north of Bancroft.
Saturday night, Bancroft OPP responded to a report of an overdue person in a small aircraft in a wooded area along Hwy. 62 in the municipality of Hastings Highlands.
A search of the area located the aircraft and the pilot was pronounced dead a short time later.
The victim has been identified as Jason Reynolds of Hastings Highlands Township.
OPP and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
