A traffic stop in Belleville’s east end resulted in weapons and drug charges against three people, including a minor.
Belleville police stopped a vehicle in the area of Dundas Street East and Georgian Court Friday evening around 6:30 p.m.
After learning the driver had a suspended licence, officers also observed a large quantity of marijuana in plain view and a loaded 9mm handgun.
Randy Read, 54, of Quinte West faces several charges:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
- Transport firearm, weapon in a careless manner
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possess firearm knowing possession is unauthorized,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
- Possess a restricted firearm
- Tampering with a serial Number of a firearm
- Care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Drive suspend – Highway Traffic Act
Twenty-four-year-old Kieear Milligan of Scarborough is charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
- Transport firearm, weapon in a careless manner
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possess firearm knowing possession is unauthorized,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
- Possess a restricted firearm
- Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
A 15-year-old Scarborough youth is charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose
- Transport firearm, weapon in a careless manner
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possess firearm knowing possession is unauthorized,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle,
- Possess a restricted firearm
- Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
- Two counts of fail to comply with a probation order
- Fail to comply with release order
- Obstruct Police
The name of the youth is not being released in accordance with the Youth Criminal and Justice Act.
All three were held for a show cause hearing on October 1.
