The Haliburton Huskies beat the Wellington Dukes 4 to 2 in last night’s Junior A Hockey match.
The game started slow with no goals in the first period, and going more than 10 minutes into the second before the Huskies claimed the first point. The Huskies outshot the Dukes 33 shots to 21.
The Dukes tried to come back in the 3rd period, with goals from David Campbell and Christian Stevens, but the Huskies wouldn’t give up the lead and took the game.
Meanwhile in Junior C action, the Napanee Raiders sent the Frankford Huskies to the pound with a 10 to 3 victory.
Scoring for the raiders was Ben Carter with a hat trick, Blake Aylesworth, Cameron Krupa with two goals, Jacob DaCosta, Adam Nuttall, Christos Chronis, and Cole Campbell.
Even though the Huskies scored first, the Raiders shot almost twice as often, outshooting them 50 to 28.
In the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League, the Deseronto Bulldogs beat the South Stormont Mustangs 4 to 3, and the North Dundas Rockets defeated the Tweed Oil Kings 9 to 4.
