A local artist is presenting an exhibition in the spirit of National Truth and Reconciliation starting this Friday.
Portrait artist Ken Leighton of Deseronto will display 139 paintings to be known as the “Truth and Reconciliation Project” at Native Renaissance on Highway 49 on the Tyendinaga Territory from September 30 until the end of October.
The “Truth and Reconciliation Project” will pay tribute to the many Indigenous children harmed and killed, not only in the residential school system, but over the past half century.
There will be no charge to view the exhibition but donations will be accepted for the Tyendinaga Language and Culture Centre.
