Do not be surprised to see a police-escorted group of runners making its way through the Quinte region Friday.
Over 300 police and other law enforcement, from across the province, are taking part in the annual National Peace Officers Memorial Run.
The run is in honour of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The run began in Toronto Thursday and will end on Parliament Hill at the National Police and Peace Officer’s Memorial Sunday.
The relay run begins Friday in Cobourg and ends the day in Brockville.
The runners will be on Old Highway 2 for most of the route through the Quinte region.
