The number of people using Belleville Transit buses continues to grow. Last month the city’s public transit buses carried 84,891 passengers, more than double the number that boarded buses in August of last year. COVID-19 restrictions were still in place at that time.
However, on a year-to-date basis, the number of riders is lower by 17% this year when compared to the first eight months of 2019 which was before pandemic restrictions kicked in.
