Cobourg’s VIA Rail station is going to be a busy spot Saturday morning but not because of passengers waiting to board a train.
The VIA Day of Action rally, pushing for a reinstatement of the Train 651 route between Kingston and Toronto, will be held.
The rally had been originally scheduled for September 9 but was postponed due to Queen Elizabeth’s passing. It begins at 10:30 in the morning.
Northumberland, Quinte region, and Kingston commuters and politicians want VIA to bring Train 651 back.
The route was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
