Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings has broken ground on its first build project in almost two years.
The City of Belleville provided Habitat with the home at 633 Sidney Street.
It became available once construction along the Sidney Street corridor was completed and officials felt the house, which corners on Tracy Street, could be salvaged.
Habitat Executive Director Hazzem Koudsi says Harmony Homes Quinte has offered to assist with the refurbishing.
The home is expected to be ready for a local family in about four months.
Koudsi expects the application process to find a family for the home will launch in the next few weeks.
