An impaired driving charge has been laid against a 23-year-old man from Markham in a crash that killed a York Region police officer this week.
Police say the collision took place in Markham when the officer was on his way to work.
Constable Travis Gillespie, originally from Cramahe Township and a student at East Northumberland Secondary School, was pronounced dead at the scene.
