Belleville police responded to 70 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on September 15, 2022 to 5 a.m. on September 16, 2022.
Arrested on warrant
On September 15, 2022 at 8 p.m., Belleville police were involved in an unrelated investigation in the east end of the city when they observed a female acting suspiciously in the area. The female provided a fake name to officers when questioned on her behaviour. Her identity was confirmed and it was determined that she had an outstanding warrant for theft under. As a result, 35-year-old Amanda Bruinsma of Belleville was arrested and released on an undertaking with a court date of October 20, 2022.
Driver Charged in Single Vehicle Collision
On September 15, 2022 at 11:30 p.m., Belleville police were called to the intersection of Dundas Street East and Charles Street regarding a single-vehicle collision into a pole. Officers arrived on scene and found the vehicle and pole to be extensively damaged. No injuries were reported but the intersection had to be closed for four hours to repair the pole. As a result of the investigation the driver, a 23-year-old Kingston resident was charged with careless driving. The intersection reopened at 3:30 a.m.
