Prince Edward County is looking at purchasing the Queen Elizabeth School property at 35 Barker Street from the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
Prince Edward County is sending out an expression of interest in purchasing the property, but has not made an offer for it. There is no financial commitment at this point.
A previous expression of interest was made, but has since expired.
The former Queen Elizabeth School is being looked at as a potential site for affordable housing development if purchased.
Committee of the Whole approved the submission of the expression of interest, and is proceeding with a real estate assessment before any potential financial offers.
