Northumberland County’s Commuter Connect shuttle bus service is now up and running.
Starting today, communities in Northumberland will be connected with each other and with GO Transit services in Oshawa.
It’s all part of a 12-month pilot project announced in April with bus routes based on survey results from over 1,100 responses.
The service is Monday to Friday
Stops on the service include Campbellford, Brighton and Colborne.
Each route will cycle four times a day starting at 5 a.m. for the Inter County Line (transit between Northumberland communities) and 6:30 a.m. for the Durham Line (connection to GO).
Rider credits (tickets) must be purchased in advance before using the service.
Credits can be purchased online or in person at the following locations:
- Cobourg: 1158 Division Street
- Campbellford: 174 Oliver Road
- Brighton: 46 Prince Edward Street
Rates for one-way travel include $3 for within the community, $9 for between communities and $13 for travel from Northumberland to GO Transit.
The full bus schedule, as well as purchasing tickets, can be found at Commuter Connect’s website.
