Belleville police responded to 82 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on September 6, 2022 to 5 a.m. on Sepytember 7, 2022.
Stolen Vehicle
On September 3, 2022 sometime after 6 p.m., unknown persons broke into a home on Haig Road. The keys for a vehicle were removed from the house and an orange 2016 Volkswagen Bug, with plate DIXIEBUG, was taken. Anyone with information about the stolen car or, if observed, is asked to contact the Belleville Police at 613-966-0882.
Police Pursuit
On September 7, 2022 at 3:10 a.m., while Belleville police were on general patrol in the west end of the city, a vehicle was observed driving in the wrong direction of traffic. The driver failed to stop for police when emergency lights were activated and a short pursuit occurred in the city. Eventually, the suspect vehicle was stopped in the east end. As a result, a 47-year-old Waterloo resident was arrested for dangerous operation and flight from police and held for a show cause hearing onSeptember 7, 2022.
