Personnel with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of a fire at a Belleville apartment house early Thursday.
Firefighters were called out to the 2 storey building on Railway Terrace at 4:15 in the morning.
Railway Terrace is located across the street from the fire department’s Bettes Street headquarters.
Residents of the building had evacuated and there were no reports of injury.
Flames were knocked down quickly but crews continued to douse hot spots and ventilate the building for a couple of hours and remain on scene.
