Cobourg police, in coordination with two other enforcement authorities, have arrested a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the police along with the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad and Port Hope Police, arrested 52-year-old Gerald Cooper on the Canada-wide warrant and two warrants held by Cobourg police.
Cooper was charged with the following offences:
1. Dangerous operation
2. Flight from peace officer
3. Assault with intent to resist arrest
4. Obstruct Peace Officer
Cooper is currently in police custody in Cobourg and waiting for a bail hearing.
