Quinte West OPP have laid charges related to a threats investigation.
Police began investigating an allegation of threats on Adrian Court in Trenton last Friday around 12:30 p.m.
The next day, police spotted the accused walking on Sidney St. in Trenton and attempted to make an arrest.
Police allege that the accused fled to a nearby apartment complex and refused to surrender himself to officers.
Officers were eventually able to enter the apartment and made an arrest after a taser was used.
One officer suffered minor injuries.
Charged is 34-year-old John McDade of Trenton.
The accused faces the following charges:
- Assault
- Assault a peace officer
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Criminal harassment
- Uttering threats – to cause death or bodily harm – three counts
- Mischief – four counts; and
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Sunday.
