A “hole-in-one” is sweet at any time but for David Jones, his ace at Trillium Woods was ten thousand times sweeter.
Jones’s hole-in-one came on the 150 yard 8th hole at Trillium during the annual SRT Dave MacKey Memorial Golf Tournament last Thursday and carried with it a $10,000 prize.
The hole was sponsored by Dennis and Sheila McCullough from Canadian Tire in Belleville.
Jones’s achievement was witnessed by four others.
Bay of Quinte crowns club champions
The Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club held their club championships over the weekend.
Mark Graham was the low gross winner with a two day score of 143.
Dave Harper had the low net score of 140.
Debbie Clare is the women’s champion at Bay of Quinte with her one day 86.
Low net honours go to Patricia Burroughs with a 72.
