Zack Card has announced he has filed his papers for Quinte West councillor of Ward 1 – Trenton.
In a release, Card describes himself as a local business owner having founded the Wild Card Brewing company in 2015 with his brother Nate. He is also Corporate Secretary for the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce.
Card says he is a 35-year-old millenial with a young family and “entrepreneurism in his blood.”
He says he hopes to bring a fresh perspective to council and a new vision to the voters while also taking a pragmatic approach to politics, aiming to build consensus and not begrudge those with whom he may disagree.
Card says his three main focuses are affordable housing, fostering an environment that promotes good jobs and industry growth, and protecting local healthcare.
He also says he is committed to fiscal responsibility and keeping all forms of property tax down.
