Belleville Police are warning the public about ongoing and attempted frauds in the area.
The public is being reminded that no one from a legitimate law enforcement agency or the courts will ever call and demand money for bail.
It is urged to question anyone demanding money or personal information.
Police are also warning of scams involving rent housing.
They say scammers can put in an ad for a place that does not exist or is not for rent.
They also warn of rental scams where the houses exist, but the contact information is altered.
It is advised to perform a secondary search on the owner and listing and never pay with cash, wire transfer or hard-to-trace equivalents.
