Quinte Waste Solutions says its Hazardous and Electronic Waste (HEW) program will no longer be able to operate its Hazardous and Special Products Collection Events this season in Marmora and Lake.
The shutdown will affect all remaining Marmora and Lake events in 2022.
Quinte Waste Solutions says it’s awaiting approval from The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks for the use of a new local location.
“I would like to personally extend my apology to all of our Marmora and Lake Residents. Although our organization is upset to have our Marmora and Lake collection events closed (for the remainder of 2022), we are excited and motivated to operate in Marmora and Lake consistently in 2023 and onward,” said HEW Operations Coordinator Ron Rae in a press release.
The Hazardous and Electronic Waste Program is still operating Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the Belleville Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Depot is also open on the first Saturday of every month.
Quinte Waste Solutions says it is encouraging all Marmora and Lake residents to attend any of its remaining collections events at other locations.
The Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot in Belleville is open to all of Quinte Waste Solutions’ serviced municipalities.
They include the following:
- Belleville
- Centre Hastings
- Madoc Township
- Marmora and Lake
- Picton
