Current Councillor Carol Feeney has officially announced her intention to run in Ward 1 in Belleville.
She announced Thursday she’s filed her nomination papers.
Feeney, a former Executive Director of the Quinte Arts Council, became an incumbent in April 2021, replacing Ryan Williams.
Since that time she has served on several committees including the The Belleville Public Library and John M. Parrott Gallery Board, Youth Advisory Committee, Transportation Committee and Grants Committee.
Feeney says her goal, if reelected, will be continuing to focus on affordable housing development, increased and environmentally friendly public transit, and support to vital not-for-profit community groups and organizations.
