A house was heavily damaged in a fire Wednesday night in the Municipality of Tweed.
Firefighters were called out to 169 East Hungerford Road at around 7 o’clock.
Firefighters contained the flames to the first floor of the house but there was smoke and water damage throughout.
No one was home at the time but some pets perished in the fire while others were saved.
The cause remains under investigation.
