A new brewery in Prince Edward County is getting the green light from the Planning Committee.
At Wednesday’s Planning Committee meeting, a change in the zoning of a farm property on County Road 12 to allow a small brewery and tasting room was approved.
The property is already farmland, and the proposed zoning changes still mandate that the property remain mostly farmland, with the brewery and tasting area contained to a single barn on the property with a small guest capacity.
The brewing business is expected to occupy less than two per cent of the property.
The zoning amendment was sent to council for final approval.
