The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 between the Shannonville and Marysville exits are expected to remain closed for some time following a collision early today.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to a collision involving a transport just after 3 a.m.
There are few details on the collision but a tractor trailer reportedly caught fire.
The highway was closed in both directions briefly before the westbound lanes reopened a little after 4 a.m.
OPP say the eastbound lanes between exit 556 Shannonville Rd/County Rd 7 and exit 566 Marysville Rd/County Rd 49 remain closed for cleanup.
Detour: south on CR 7 – east on Old Hwy2 – north on CR 49.
