Arrested on Warrants
On August 2, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., Belleville police attended the area of West Street and Trice Crescent to assist a city by-law officer to serve a notice. A check of a female at the location revealed that 35-year-old Cynthia Newman of no fixed address had several outstanding warrants for two counts of failing to comply with a release order, three counts of failing to attend court, failing to attend fingerprints, failing to comply with a summons, public mischief, and using a firearm without cause. As a result, Newman was arrested and later released with a court date of September 1, 2022.
On August 3, 2022 at 12:15 a.m., Belleville police attended a Cannifton Road address for a report of an unwanted person. While arriving, attending officers observed a male currently wanted on warrants by Belleville police for two counts of theft. As a result, 36-year-old Michael Bird of no fixed address was arrested for the warrant and later released with a court date of September 29, 2022.
On August 3, 2022 at 1:18 a.m., Belleville Police Uniform Patrol were travelling east on College Street at Grier Street when they observed a female walking that matched the description of a suspect from an earlier theft investigation. Police stopped and spoke to the female. As a result, it was determined that 46-year-old Candice Matthews of no fixed address was wanted by Belleville police for theft and fail to appear for court and fingerprints. She was arrested for the warrants and later released with a court date of September 29, 2022.
