Assault
On the 23rd of July, 2022, shortly before 3:00 a.m. Belleville Police were called to the downtown core regarding a possible fight. Officers located an injured male party who was taken to Belleville General Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police continue to investigate. Breach of Release Conditions
On the 24th of July 2022, at 3:49 am, Belleville Police were called to an address on Humewood Drive, Belleville for a stolen vehicle. While investigating the stolen vehicle, Police received an anonymous complaint that a male was breaching a release condition at a nearby residence. As a result, a 28-year-old male Belleville resident was located and arrested for one count of breaching his release condition to not communicate with a female. The male was later released with a court date of the 15th of August 2022. As this is a domestic-related incident, the name of the male is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
On the 24th of July 2022, at 10:00 pm, Belleville Police were on patrol through a parking lot of a business on Bell Boulevard Belleville, Ontario and were alerted of a possible stolen vehicle. Investigation revealed that the car was stolen from a local dealership. Officers located a 50-year-old male in Belleville inside the car. The male was arrested on the scene. As a result of the investigation, the male was charged with possession of stolen property over 5000.00 dollars, possession of stolen property under 5000.00 dollars, and two counts of breach of probation. The male was held for a bail hearing on the 25th of July 2022.
Attempt Theft
On the 24th of July 2022, at 3:10 pm, a male attempted to leave a Bell Boulevard business with approximately 2000.00 dollars in merchandise. The male was confronted in the parking lot of the business by a customer and left the merchandise. The suspect got into a vehicle, and when Police arrived on the scene the suspect vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Officers did not pursue the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
