The Belleville General Hospital Foundation’s flagship fundraising event, the Annual Gala, is making an in-person return on Saturday 17, September 2022. Launched earlier this week, this year’s Cuban themed event, will see The Grand in Belleville transformed into Old Havana for an evening of fun, fiesta and fundraising.
Organizers say that ticket sales have already been particularly strong as members of the business community and sponsors snap up what is surely going to be one of the biggest events in the fundraising calendar.
Now in its 23rd year, the event raises critical funds for the purchase of replacement equipment at BGH; Quinte Health Care’s regional secondary hospital. Guests can look forward to an evening of spectacular entertainment, Latin cocktails and sumptuous food as the venue hosts International showband Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra, a high energy group of vocalists and musicians who have found global acclaim touring with CeeLo Green and Gene Simmons.
This year will mark the first time guests can enjoy a face-to-face event due to a two-year absence during the pandemic. That being said, virtual support in 2021 raised a record $742,000 on the night from guests tuning in to the planned activities from home.
Highlighting the event’s importance to the Foundation, Executive Director Steve Cook commented, “The Annual Gala holds a special place in the hearts of many across the community and has hosted some incredible acts of generosity through the years. We are hoping this year’s event will be no different at a time when the hospital needs us now more than ever. Tickets are limited to just 250 this year, so we expect to sell out extremely quickly.”
