First, it was the acquisition of the old Nestle plant.
Now, we know more information about what is being done about the building that used to house the old Saputo plant in Trenton.
CEO of the Quinte Economic Development Commission, Chris King, tells Quinte News that the building has been purchased by an investment buyer that intends to lease out the building to another user.
King says the commission is working with the real estate agent to find the right tenant.
He says the building is suited for food processing but could also work for other industrial needs.
Dairy processing will not be happening at the plant due to restrictions still in place by Saputo.
Saputo shut down the plant in September 2020, putting 200 people out of work.
