The dance community is mourning the loss of the founder and first Artistic Director of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada, Brian Scott.
Scott passed away Tuesday in his 93rd year.
After his dance career that included time with the National Ballet of Canada, Scott came to Belleville in 1972 and helped establish the Quinte Ballet Guild which eventually became the Quinte Ballet School.
Students from around the world came to study under Scott until his retirement in 2000.
