An exciting new partnership has been formed between Quinte Home Builders Association and Habitat
for Humanity Prince Edward–Hastings. The two community–focused organizations are proud to introduce
the Builders’ Classic Golf Tournament. The tournament will be taking place at Black Bear Ridge Golf
Course, on September 20, 2022, and will feature player favourites from past tournaments organized by
QHBA, along with many new features created through this exciting new partnership.
Proceeds from the tournament will support the endeavours of both QHBA and HFHPEH within our
community. For QHBA, this event will support their Construction Trade Scholarship Fund, which helps
youth connect to careers in the construction industry and aims to narrow the skilled trades labour gaps
in our region.
Ruth Estwick, Quinte Home Builders’ Association’s Chief Executive Officer, says that “through this
project we can support the next generation of skilled trades professionals, the very workforce which
develops our communities and enables future growth in the Bay of Quinte region.”
For Habitat, this event will contribute much–needed additional funds for its planned home building
projects in the coming months. Hazzem Koudsi, Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward–Hasting’s Executive
Director, is excited to point out that, “Habitat for Humanity is more than building houses and selling
goods out of the ReStore. We are about engaging people, communicating a sense of purpose, and
enhancing our community through constructive partnerships.”
The Builders’ Classic is surely only the beginning of the amazing things this dynamic collaboration will
bring about, so you absolutely will not want to miss it! Registration will open on July 15th, 2022 and can
