The Wellington Rotary Club made a big promise five years ago and now they’ve made good on it.
At its annual Past President’s Dinner, President of the Wellington Rotary Club Foundation and outgoing President Trudy Brown presented a cheque for just over $309,000 to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back the Build Campaign.
The club had set a goal for a donation to Back the Build totalling $400,000 but had made a $100,000 down payment in 2020.
The Rotary donation was part of the recently announced $20.7 million community share of the cost of building the new hospital in Picton.
