Some Ontario school boards are finding programming virtual classes this year challenging with significantly lower student interest.
Officials at the Hastings and Prince Edward School Board say there just was not enough interest from students in Grades 9 through 12 to be able to offer a full virtual school for them.
The board’s superintendent of education, Tina Elliott, says there is a significant decline in the numbers of families and students that are interested in virtual school.
The province decided to require boards to offer remote learning as an option for students this year, as it has for previous pandemic school years.
