A new name will be seeking a seat in Ward 1 in Belleville in this fall’s municipal election.
Margaret Seu says she will focus her candidacy on her commitment to building businesses in Quinte to meet global opportunities and to help the community transition to be fully inclusive and diverse.
Seu says she has a strong interest in social services noting she understands much of the housing affordability issues after many years of property management experience.
Self-employed as a financial representative, Seu is also a certified interpreter for Korean-English and President of the Korean-Canadian Community of Eastern Ontario.
She is an active Rotary Club member, sits on the board of directors for both Mission Thrift Store and the Federal Korean–Canadian Association and welcomes Korean newcomers in the Quinte District.
Seu says, “A few persons active in the community mentioned to me they thought I had much to offer the city and council. I was honoured by their comments and hope I can meet their expectations.”
