“We stayed in and now we’re coming out.”
Chair Stacey Love-Jolicoeur says that’s the theme of this year’s Bay of Quinte Pride Week, the first since 2019.
“And this year we’re looking at this as an opportunity to rebuild our pride. Having been locked up and stayed in, now we’re coming out and we’re showing how wonderful the world is.”
Events still to come this week include Tuesday’s Pizza Night at Boston Pizza as well as bowling at Quinte Bowl and events at the Grind and Vine in Trenton and Hayloft in the County.
Love-Jolicoeur says the big day is Saturday starting off with the Pride Parade through downtown Belleville.
“We have the parade, it’s leaving Empire Square at 12 noon and winds its way down to Zwick’s Park. We have over 45 vendors, we have speeches by dignitaries, music and lots of activities for the kids. So come on out and show your pride.”
The day ends with Pride After Dark at the Northway Lounge in Belleville.
