After a two year absence another popular fundraiser and awareness event is ready to make its return.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, the annual fundraiser for Three Oaks women’s shelter, returns with a new format but the same message – violence against women is not welcome.
This year instead of one event, participants are being encouraged to arrange a group to do the walk together.
That walk can be completed any time during the last two weeks of June.
Everyone can participate and men will be provided with a pair of red high heels to raise awareness about violence against women.
This year’s theme: Calling Out Violence Against Women.
Organizers say while cancel culture can be a controversial topic, in this case it’s an opportunity to exclude violence against women in our community and collectively vocalize that it is not welcome.
