It has been a great year for building activity in Prince Edward County.
Last month, the county issued 119 building permits with a total value of just over $33 million.
That is almost double the value in May of last year when 95 permits were issued for $17.8 million.
Plans for the construction of 16 new houses accounted for about half of last month’s $33 million total.
So far this year, construction value in the county is about twice as much as it was in the same period totalling $108.4 million.
