The Northumberland OPP are investigating a fatal incident after a female was struck by a falling tree during a significant weather event.
On May 21, 2022, at 2:11 p.m., members of Northumberland OPP and emergency services responded to an address in Port Hope after a tree had fallen on a female as a powerful weather system moved through the area.
A 74-year-old female from Port Hope was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of the significant weather event, members of the public are asked to use caution and avoid close proximity to any trees that may have been damaged by the storm.
