Bancroft OPP are investigating an assault in the town of Bancroft.
Officers were called to a home on Gaebel Road around 9 p.m. on Wednesday and located a man who had been assaulted with a weapon.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Police say three people forced their way into the home and assaulted the victim before leaving on foot.
