As the summer season gets underway, initiatives of The County’s Tourism Management Plan come into effect this weekend including:
Increased monitoring of illegal parking and camping.
Opening of public washrooms throughout the County. Municipal staff begin an increased cleaning schedule this weekend and will also begin an increased garbage collection and removal schedule. View a digital map of washroom locations.
Seasonal boat launch parking passes are available for online purchase or in-person purchase at The Edward Building or your local library. Day passes are also available for purchase at the dockside using a smart phone or in person at The Edward Building.
The boat launch at Wellington Rotary Beach will be closed on weekends and holidays from 9 am – 5 pm, beginning this weekend. The Belleville Street launch in Wellington remains closed. A new boat launch will be opened later in June at the site of the former Cer-a-met site at 16057 Loyalist Parkway.
Entrance fees to Wellington Rotary Beach take effect this weekend. Residents are reminded to register for a PEC Summer Pass, which allows for free entry to Wellington Rotary Beach and exempts passholders from fines in designated parking areas at Huyck’s Point Road (County Road 20) and Bakker Road. Passes can be obtained without registration at The Edward Building. Municipal staff will also be facilitating pass distribution at Wellington Library on May 21 and from May 24-27.
Residents are encouraged to check out the County’s Summer Hub for more on boat launches, parking, beaches and enforcement. Contact information for where to direct concerns or issues can also be found on the Summer Hub.
