The Trent-Severn Waterway is set to open for another season on Friday.
The 386-kilometre route that runs between Trenton and Port Severn traditionally opens on the Victoria Day long weekend, however, the past two seasons’ openings were delayed due to the pandemic.
Waterway officials are asking boaters and visitors to still exercise caution suggesting masks be worn including when using public washrooms at lock stations, continuing social distancing and using cashless payment when possible.
Some other pandemic restrictions will remain in place this season including no drive-up camping.
Reservations must be made in order to camp at locks offering the service.
The waterway opens for navigation at 9 a.m.
