Motor Vehicle Collision/ Impaired
Belleville police have charged a local man following a collision on Tuesday night.
Police were called to MacDonald Avenue and Bridge Street East around 10:40 p.m. where a person had failed to remain at the scene of an accident.
Officers a short time later were able to locate the vehicle and driver and arrested 44-year-old Jeffrey Norton of Belleville for impaired operation, operation over 80mgs and fail to remain.
He was released with a court date of June 16.
Assault with Weapon
Two people attended the Belleville Police Service headquarters to report an assault.
The victim advised they had been threatened and assaulted with a weapon.
Officers began an investigation and 20 year-old Brendan Chamberlain of Corbyville was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
He was released with a June 20 court date.
Theft
Police are investigating the theft of a motocross/dirt bike from a home on Casey Road in Belleville.
The bike was stolen on the night of May 14.
