One day after announcing Peter Goulet would no longer serve as coach and GM of the Trenton Golden Hawks, the team’s ownership has revealed his replacement.
Former NHLer Jerome Dupont returns to the team he coached from 2011-2017.
During that time he led the Golden Hawks to the North-East Conference Finals three times, two appearances in the OJHL Finals, a Buckland Cup (OJHL Championship), two Dudley Hewitt Cups (Central Canadian Championship) and two National Championship appearances.
Dupont says, “The Trenton Golden Hawks organization and fans have very high standards and so do I. The goal for this upcoming season it to win a national championship. I look forward to the challenge that lies ahead.”
“Jerome Dupont is a proven winner,” says Director of Operations John McDonald. “His experience playing in the NHL, winning behind the bench and knowledge of the game will make everyone better.”
Dupont will handle head coaching and General Manager duties.
The team announced Monday that Goulet would no longer serve as coach and GM though he will remain with the club in an unannounced capacity.
