On Thursday, May 12, 2022, newly announced Homestead Marketplace generously donated $100,000 to Hospice Quinte. Mike and Nickey Eden, owners of Homestead Marketplace, along with their CFO, Audrey Lessard, and Marketing Director, Katie Fitzsimmons, presented the cheque to Hospice Quinte Executive Director, Jennifer May-Anderson, and Donor Relations & Communications Manager, Sandi Ramsay outside the Hospice Quinte Stan Klemencic Care Centre.
Homestead Marketplace and its group of companies is committed to helping raise funds and awareness for Hospice Quinte. The donation includes providing the facility with all its major appliances from Leon’s Furniture Trenton, providing outdoor power equipment from the Factory Store, and a five-year monetary commitment from Homestead Marketplace.
“As a family, we have firsthand experience with hospice care,” says Mike Eden. “We understand just how precious your last days are with loved ones, so being able to help contribute to a world-class palliative care centre in Quinte means a lot to us. It’s a blessing during that period of time to have well-trained, caring staff and volunteers available to support families. It makes all the difference.”
