A motion to change school naming policies for the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is going nowhere, at least for the time being.
The Board’s Committee of the Whole rejected a staff recommendation to make changes that could have led to a renaming of Sir John A. Macdonald Public School in Belleville.
At Monday night’s committee meeting, three members voted against the renaming of the school and 2 voted for. The motion to rename Sir John A. MacDonald School was lost.
Three members were absent.
