The cause of a Mother’s Day fire near Picton remains under investigation.
Prince Edward County Fire Chief Chad Brown says damage is estimated at $300,000.
A neighbour reported the fire at 55 County Road 1 (Sandy Hook Road), to 911 just before 4 p.m.
No one was home at the time.
Firefighters arrived to find an intense fire that moved up through the roof.
Brown reminds everyone to ensure they have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes.
